We are learning about how to make a podcast and ways we might use podcasting in the classroom.
My podcasting resumé : I started podcasting with my class of Year Four and Five children in August 2006 and since then have spent some time exploring different genre of podcasts. When we started I had no idea about it at all and pretty much worked it out by trial and lots of errors. Hopefully this resource will make your podcasting journey a little easier as you know there is someone to contact if you get stuck.

Here are some interesting links that you may want to look at.

We are called Allanah's Appleby Airwaves- you can search for it in ITunes also.
This video be Lee LeFever from Commoncraft gives you a really easy to understand idea of how a podcast differs from just putting audio on the internet.

One of the highlights of 2007 has been the enthusiasm of individual bloggers in Moturoa. We used Blogmeister to allow everyone to post to their own blog at the same time but following a weekend 'How to make a blog' afternoon with parents a number of children are maintaining their own blogs and they continue to do so without my direct supervision. They would love some feedback if you have a moment- introduce yourself.

    Oscar's Blog
    Miriam's Blog

At the beginning of 2007 I was invited to do a presentation on blogging for the TUANZ roadshow so constructed www.bling4yrblog.blogspot.com as a resource centre for teachers wanting to learn how to blog and how to add some of the 'extras' to make your blog more inviting. I have been adding to it ever since.

    Going down
Since the advent of Web 2.0 technologies the world is my classroom. From a small rural school near Nelson in the South Island we connect, create and collaborate with classes and schools around the world. It is not magical or awesome. It is how we are.
Let's start off with a little global fun.
    Play
Into an educational setting and Twittered and blogged that I wanted to make a video like Matt's but with children from different classes. I asked classes to watch Matt's video and send me 20 second clips of their classes and I would collate them together. Here is our effort.
As Matt's video does, we brought together people from different locations to enjoy and celebrate together.

In 2005 I created a class blog which reflected some of the learning in our classroom. In the beginning I had no idea just how transformative it would be to the things that I teach and the way that I teach them.
